Investment Case

01. Regulated access to a new asset class

The first FINMA-regulated Swiss crypto fund, offering institutional and professional investors a credible and regulated gateway to digital assets.

02. Benchmark-led exposure

Passive replication of the SIX Crypto Market Index 10 provides transparent access to the largest and most liquid crypto assets through an investable benchmark.

03. Access to the core of the asset class

The strategy offers diversified large-cap crypto exposure through a rules-based index designed to capture the core of the digital asset market.

Market Opportunity

As the digital asset market matures, investors are increasingly looking beyond single asset exposure toward broader, more diversified participation in the sector. A benchmark based allocation provides a transparent and rules based way to access the development of the largest and most liquid crypto assets, while helping investors avoid the concentration risk of selecting individual tokens.

Fund Strategy

The Crypto Market Index Fund is the first regulated Swiss crypto fund, approved by FINMA in September 2021. The fund seeks to passively replicate the SIX Crypto Market Index 10, investing in a large cap crypto asset portfolio weighted by market capitalisation. Where required, the fund may use optimised sampling, particularly when certain assets are not yet available through the depositary’s cold storage solution. Developed through a Swiss partnership between PvB, AMINA Bank, and Matrixport Asset Management AG, the fund provides a professionally governed framework for core digital asset allocation.

Why now?

Clearer regulation is emerging

Over 70% of jurisdictions reviewed advanced new stablecoin regulatory frameworks in 2025 while the GENIUS Act was signed into law in the U.S. in July 2025 reinforcing momentum toward clearer digital-asset regulation.

Mainstream access is expanding

The approval of 19 spot crypto ETFs in the U.S in 2024 marked an important step in bringing digital assets into more conventional investment channels and broadening regulated access for investors.

Institutional conviction is strong

Institutional demand continues to build, with 73% of surveyed investors planning to increase digital asset allocations in 2026 reinforcing demand for simple, benchmark-led exposure through regulated structures.

Core Strategy Pillars

Our investment approach is anchored in four core pillars that shape how the portfolio is constructed and managed.

Benchmark-Led Exposure
Rules-Based Construction
Large-Cap Digital Asset Exposure
Optimised Sampling

The fund seeks to replicate the SIX Crypto Market Index 10, providing access to the largest and most liquid crypto assets through an investable benchmark.

The portfolio follows a transparent methodology, with constituents selected according to market capitalisation, liquidity, trading history, and institutional storage eligibility. The index is reviewed and rebalanced quarterly.

The strategy focuses on the core of the asset class by allocating to up to 10 leading crypto assets, offering diversified exposure to the market through a single vehicle.

Where certain assets are not yet available within the custodian’s cold-storage framework, the fund may use optimised sampling to replicate the index efficiently while maintaining institutional-grade implementation standards.

Portfolio Benefits

Digital assets have shown historically low or variable correlation to traditional equity and fixed income markets and are driven by different underlying return factors, which can enhance diversification within a broader portfolio.

Attractive Risk-Adjusted Returns

Digital assets have the potential to improve portfolio risk-adjusted returns, particularly when introduced as part of a broader diversified allocation.

Global Market Exposure

Digital assets represent a globally traded and continuously evolving market, offering exposure to a new segment of the financial system beyond traditional regional market boundaries.

Emerging Asset
Class

The fund provides benchmark-led access to the largest and most liquid crypto assets through the SIX Crypto Market Index 10, offering exposure to a fast-developing digital asset market.

Fund Structure Matters

01 Regulated Swiss fund vehicle

A FINMA-approved and supervised collective investment scheme. Assets are legally segregated, bankruptcy-remote, and held independently.

02 Asset Ownership, Not a Debt Claim

Unlike ETPs, fund unitholders hold beneficial ownership of the underlying crypto assets, not exposure through a listed debt instrument.

03 Institutional Safeguards Throughout

Independent FINMA-regulated custody, multi-signature cold storage, SIX-administered CMI10 benchmark, and mandatory NAV disclosure.

04 Built for Governance Standards

Designed for qualified investors requiring a regulated, auditable, and defensible framework for digital asset exposure.
